The Institute of Business Ethics (IBE), today announced the appointment of Flora Page KC as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees, effective 2 July 2025. Flora will succeed Professor David Grayson CBE, who will step down after a distinguished six-year tenure.
Flora Page KC brings to the IBE a wealth of experience in corporate governance and a deep, practical understanding of corporate and financial crime. A highly respected barrister at 23ES, she has a diverse legal background that includes roles as a solicitor at Clifford Chance, a period at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and work with the Law Commission, where she was part of the team that drafted the Fraud Act 2006.
Her appointment comes at a critical time for business ethics. Flora has been at the forefront of one of the UK's most significant corporate scandals, acting for former sub-postmasters in the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry. This experience, coupled with her ongoing PhD research at University College London (UCL), focuses on a new approach to corporate integrity.
In addition to her practice, Flora is a board member of the Legal Services Board, the oversight regulator for legal services in England and Wales, giving her practical experience in corporate governance and regulation in the public interest.
Flora Page KC, new Chair at the Institute of Business Ethics, said:
“Ethical leadership is not about ticking the right boxes. It is about doing the right thing. It cannot be achieved through mechanical compliance or assurance exercises. It cannot be created through reputation management. To make it happen, business leaders have to stand up and be counted, because doing the right thing requires unrelenting thought and effort. The Institute of Business Ethics is perfectly placed to help business leaders with both the thinking and the hard yards, so I am truly honoured to take up the role of chairing its Board of volunteer Trustees.”
Lauren Branston, CEO of the Institute of Business Ethics, said:
"Appointing a Chair with Flora’s calibre and frontline experience is a defining moment for the IBE. Her work on the Post Office Horizon Inquiry demonstrates a profound understanding of the consequences when ethics are ignored. I’m hugely excited to work with Flora; her expertise will be invaluable in ensuring we provide the practical guidance people need to build and lead cultures with integrity.
“I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to David Grayson, who has been an enormous support to me since I joined as CEO last September. His wise stewardship, positive energy, and unwavering commitment have helped shape the Institute’s direction – especially through the challenges of the pandemic. We owe him a deep debt of gratitude.”
Professor David Grayson CBE, outgoing Chair, said:
“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of the Institute of Business Ethics during such a pivotal time. Over the past six years, I have seen the IBE develop its role as a trusted partner to those navigating the ethical challenges of modern business. Treating people fairly and behaving with integrity are fundamental for enduring business success. As the external landscape continues to evolve, I am confident that the IBE will continue to inspire, support and strengthen ethical leadership across sectors. I will be cheering on Flora, Lauren and colleagues as they do so.”
