Integrity - Institute of Business Ethics

What does integrity mean?

Think of someone you know who has integrity. How would you describe them? I imagine you’ll use words like solid, dependable, upright, honest, straightforward, and responsible. You trust them to do the right thing, no matter what the situation, to be there for you and others.

Integrity in business means the same – if business is conducted with integrity, you know you can depend upon the products and services, and that they will be delivered in the ‘right’ way. Like the building with integrity, they won’t let you down.

The IBE has integrity as one of our values.

For us that means that we work hard to do the right thing in everything we do. Whether that’s how we treat each other, or who we work with, where we get our products from, or how we treat our subscribers; you can trust that we support each other to do this with integrity.

Integrity makes us stronger.

Just as a building has structural integrity, so do we. But what gives a building integrity? It is the combination of strong foundations, the engineering of the bricks working together, and the professionalism in design to create a strong structure. You can depend on it.

Just as bricks and mortar offer protection from the elements, integrity protects you and your business from unethical business practice which can erode your reputation and your sustainability.

Institute of Business Ethics

The IBE was established in 1986 to promote high standards of business behaviour based on ethical values.
