Living Up to our Values:
ethical assurance
How can boards be confident that their organisation
is living up to its ethical values and commitments?
What is ethical assurance?
Why do it and how do you approach it?
Living Up To Our Values will assist directors of companies
and other organisations in understanding the need for
and benefits of ethical assurance. With changes in narrative
reporting and the proposed introduction of the Business
Review, non-financial reporting needs to be as rigorous
as financial reporting and good practice guidelines
are needed in this developing field. This report provides
a practical framework for approaching the assurance
of ethical performance against the standards set out
in an organisation's own code of ethics.
This report will help those involved in assuring boards
of directors on the integrity of their ethical policies.
It provides practical guidance on how to measure the
extent to which ethical values are embedded, that commitments
are being met and management processes in this important
area are effective.
