Is there a way to prove a company's integrity?

The IBE has developed a chartermark in association with the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) to help businesses and organisations know if their ethics programme is embedded throughout their organisation

The Investing in Integrity (IiI) charter mark gives an assurance of trustworthiness to clients, customers, investors and other stakeholders doing business with the organisation.

The real strength of the IiI framework is that it tests an organisation’s ethical conduct against its statements of values to ensure those values are properly embedded. It can help them identify whether or not the company is truly living up to its values, from the boardroom to the shop floor.

The testing uses a self assessment management questionnaire and third party audit by IiI partner, GoodCorporation, whose methodology has been adapted for the IiI chartermark.

What companies say about Investing in Integrity (IiI)

"Carillion is an ethical business built on integrity and trust. We recognise that our reputation and future success are dependent upon acting to the highest ethical standards. We are absolutely delighted to be the first company in our sector to have achieved the Investing in Integrity charter mark in recognition of our commitment to our strong Values and high ethical standards. This is a fantastic achievement and it will help to support our continued growth and development at a time when good corporate governance, a strong reputation and high ethical standards have never been more important to retaining and securing work.”
Richard Howson, Chief Executive, Carillion plc

"Supreme Group's strategy around Ethics & Compliance is at the very heart of all that we do, everyday. We are proud that our culture of ethics and integrity is of the highest international standard and continues to grow and develop. We take hard decisions and we always try to apply the latest techniques for embedding an ethical culture in our organisation. As with any successful business practice, innovation is key.”

Emma Sharma, Chief Ethics & Compliance Office, Supreme Group

"Our business is built on accuracy, efficiency and integrity. We work continually at all these aspects and the entire business unit is fully committed to them. The IiI award is a welcome recognition of the efforts we put in as a business and as individuals. We do not intend to rest on our laurels – we see this as a matter of continuous improvement and have a number of other technical assurance programmes underway.”
