Is there a way to prove a company's integrity?
The IBE has developed a charter mark in association with Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) to help businesses and organisations know if their ethics programme is embedded throughout their organisation.
The Investing in Integrity (IiI) charter mark gives an assurance of trustworthiness to clients, customers, investors and other stakeholders doing business with the organisation.
What is unique about IiI is that it tests an organisation’s ethical standards against its own statements of ethical values, rather than that of an external framework. It can help them identify whether or not they are truly living up to their values, from the boardroom down to the staff canteen.
The testing uses a self assessment management questionnaire and third party audit by IiI partner, GoodCorporation, whose methodology has been adapted for the IiI charter mark.
"IiI was a very comprehensive exercise and gaining such a standard required extensive input and assessment throughout the organisation. It allowed us to strategically evaluate and reflect on our current architecture and benchmark ourselves against the Investing in Integrity principles. It enabled us to showcase our commitment to the accreditation and to understand the importance of gaining independent accreditation for the values and standards we have implemented through the IMI Way.”
Jo Morgan, Group Chief Compliance Officer, IMI plc
"Our business is built on accuracy, efficiency and integrity. We work continually at all these aspects and the entire business unit is fully committed to them. The IiI award is a welcome recognition of the efforts we put in as a business and as individuals. We do not intend to rest on our laurels – we see this as a matter of continuous improvement and have a number of other technical assurance programmes underway.”
Richard Downs, Vice President, Inspectorate UK, Metals & Minerals Division of Bureau Veritas
