It is with great sadness that we record the death of IBE's
Chairman, Chris Beresford, on Friday 7th July 2006. This was
very sudden and our thoughts go out to his family.
Chris became Chairman of IBE in 2001 when it became a seperate
charity in its own right, splitting from CABE (the Christian
Asssociation of Business Executives). He had been a continuing
trustee of CABE since 1992.
Chris had a distinguished career of 21 years as a partner
at KPMG having joined Peat Marwick (a predecessor firm) in
1968. He retired in 2002 but continued an active role with
many charities other than IBE, including schools, people with
disability and the Environmental Law Foundation. He was married
with three children.
"Chris's energy and guidance has helped the IBE grow
from strength to strength" said Philippa Foster Back
OBE, Director of the Institute. "He will be sorely missed
by all of us at the IBE, both personally and professionally."
